Every year, choosing a Mother's Day cake in Bangkok turns into a bit of a panic — the shop fills with people wanting the biggest, most dramatic thing on the counter. And every year I gently tell them the same thing: it's usually the opposite of what Mum actually wants. Thai Mother's Day falls on 12 August, and it's one of our busiest days of the year — so before you order, let me tell you what I've learned from thousands of them, starting with my own mum.

Here's the honest logistics bit. Mother's Day is one of our busiest days, and we deliberately cap how many orders we take so the quality doesn't slip and we don't bury the chefs.
